Fusina Bar Venice, Italy…The Beginning…
In 2012, We both set out on a journey to the other side of the world that lead us to cross paths in a little place called Fusina bar in Venice, Italy.
We both worked for Contiki Holidays as Tour Guides for the last 10 years throughout Europe and Aotearoa. We have had our fair share of unique meals throughout all the countries from 5 star restaurants In Austria to pop up stores on the side of the streets in Bosnia. We have combined together our experiences, adventures and mistakes from around the world to create the most interesting flavors, textures and experiences.
Ever since the birth of Covid 19, our travels have been bought to a fast halt. For the last few years we have been working with our Sister food truck Doubleparkednz serving up a range of foods for people to enjoy.
…The Birth Of DoubleShot…
We have always been like two peas (Donuts) in a pod (Fryer) when it came to training and fitness. Both always wanting to get as fit as possible, but at the same time trying to fit in as much food as possible.
After many later night binges, 500 coffees, slip ups and seeing doughnuts as weights, we finally stumbled across a meal plan that suited our life style and love of baking was finally no longer a dream but a reality.
CHEAT DAYS… A Cheat Day was born, which is once a week with us trying to eat as much naughty/delicious food as humanly possible, with pork belly bao buns, sausage rolls, chip sandwich, ice cream, cakes and yes! Donuts of course had a huge part in this day. From the beginning we would start by pre-ordering around 12 Donuts, then on a mission to find the best donuts and treats throughout the day. It has now evolved with us finally being able to bake Donuts, Our Filled Cookies, Brownies (100 hours to bake!) and much much more.
Baking and cooking has always been a love of ours since such a young age (as you can see above) and being able to share it with everyone just makes it all a little bit sweeter.
